About us
Music from the roof of the world
Rolyang (རོལ་དབྱངས — "the sound of music" in Tibetan) is a free streaming and discovery platform dedicated to Tibetan, Himalayan, and related musical traditions. Every track on Rolyang streams directly through YouTube's official API — we do not store or host any music files. Our purpose is to organize, curate, and present this music in a way that makes it easier to explore.
Our growing catalog includes songs, artists, and albums across folk, devotional, contemporary pop, opera, and traditional genres from Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, Ladakh, and the wider Himalayan region. New music is added as the community and content continue to expand.
Who it's for
Rolyang is for anyone who wants to listen — members of the Tibetan and Himalayan diaspora reconnecting with familiar sounds, new listeners discovering the region's music for the first time, researchers, students, and anyone who appreciates music from the high Himalayas.
Supporting artists
We also support and promote artists by helping their music reach a wider listening audience. By organizing their work in a clear, accessible way, we make it easier for listeners around the world to discover new voices, follow regional traditions, and connect with the artists who shape this musical heritage.
